Transcript/Audio Requests

TRANSCRIPT AND AUDIO RECORDINGS OF COURT PROCEEDINGS

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Georgia digitally records proceedings. Written transcripts of these proceedings are made only when ordered. Such transcripts are filed with the Court and available for public viewing through the Court’s Case Management/Electronic Case Filing System (CM/ECF). In accordance with Judicial Conference policy and Federal Bankruptcy Rule 9037, any person about whom private information is disclosed in a proceeding may request redaction of such information before a transcript is filed electronically.  Please see General Order 2007‐7 for more information.

The Bankruptcy Court offers several methods for requesting a transcript. Outlined HERE are the various options and per page rates.

The Bankruptcy Court’s Electronic Court Recorder Operator (ECRO) will calculate the estimated transcript charge based on the option chosen. A completed Transcript Order form (AO 435) must be submitted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for each transcript requested. Please note that CM/ECF users with a valid login and password may file the request in CM/ECF using the docket event located under Bankruptcy/Adversary > Miscellaneous > Request for Transcript or Audio CD. Once a Transcript Order form is received, the Court’s ECRO will forward all necessary documents to a transcriptionist to process the request. Fees for written transcripts are paid directly to the transcriptionist, not to the Bankruptcy Court.

AUDIO RECORDINGS

Audio recordings of court proceedings can also be obtained on CD. A completed Order Form for Court Hearing Recording must be submitted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for each audio CD requested. The fee for audio recordings is $34.00 per disc, payable to the Clerk’s Office by cash or money order (Attorneys may also pay by check.) Please note that CM/ECF users with a valid login and password may file the request in CM/ECF using the docket event located under Bankruptcy/Adversary > Miscellaneous > Request for Transcript or Audio CD; the user will be prompted during the docketing process for payment of the fee via Pay.gov. Fees are due at the time of pickup, unless paid during the docketing process in CM/ECF. Each CD contains approximately 70 minutes of recording.
