Bankruptcy Rules, Forms, and Fee Changes Effective December 1, 2023

The following changes will become effective on December 1, 2023:

Amendments to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure

  • 3011, 8003, 9006, and new Rule 9038.

These rules changes, as well as the changes to Appellate Rules 2, 4, 26, and 45, and Civil Rules 6, 15, 72, and new rule 87, can be viewed on the Pending Rules and Forms Amendments page of the United States Courts website. The Congressional Package dated April 2023 contains blackline versions of the Rules and Committee Notes for a quick reference of the changes.

Changes to the Official Forms

Changes to Other Bankruptcy Forms

  • Form 1340, Application for Payment of Unclaimed Funds - an updated Form 1340 will be posted to this website on December 1, 2023.

Miscellaneous Fee Changes

Several bankruptcy miscellaneous fee changes are scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2023. CLICK HERE to view the upcoming changes. A revised bankruptcy fee schedule will be posted to this website on December 1, 2023.
